Roy was affectionately known among his friends as "Mr Highridge" due to his unstinted commitment to the South Bristol club over many decades. Tributes have been pouring in from all around the local football scene for the popular man from clubs such as Mendip Broadwalk, Sea Mills Park, St Aldhelms and Hallen.

Everyone at Hengrove would like to send their sympathies to Highridge United on the sad loss of a true club legend. They don't make them like Roy these days.
