After ten weeks with very little rain, and despite having watered the pitch extensively overnight for several weeks, the inspecting referee had no option to call the game off due to player safety.

Several large cracks have appeared in recent days similar to the one pictured and all around the pitch, there are many other smaller ones that can best be described as dangerous.
