Hengrove Athletic's charity football match to raise money for a very special little girl takes place today at Norton Lane.

The event, from 12 noon till 6pm and will feature the cream of former Bristol City and Bristol Rovers players in the match which will be followed by an auction, raffle and a special gig from local entertainer Darren "Daz" Sims.

Georgia Clarke, 10, from Whitchurch, was born six weeks prematurely and is registered blind with only partial sight in one eye. She is also autistic and suffers from epilepsy and seizures as well as being unable to talk.

Teachers at Georgia's school have been working on improving her communication abilities by using an innovative Eye Gaze system. The machine allows Georgia to use a cursor on a screen to pick up objects & move them around the screen by using her eyes.

Georgia's parents Kevin and Katrina need the equipment at home to continue Georgia's amazing progress; the Eye Gaze stays at school. It costs £7,000 for the system and more than £1,000 has been raised already so to speed up the fundraising, Bristol entertainer Darren Sims has organised the football match and will be performing in the clubhouse after the match.

There will be a small admission charge to the ground and as well as the football and the music, there will be a charity auction, a raffle, bouncy castle and much much more.

Please come along and support this wonderful event. There will be plenty of car parking and a chance to get pictures and autographs with some of Bristol's top ex-pro footballers's. And best of all, you'll be helping to bring Georgia's dream of communicating with her friends and family a little closer.

If you can't make it, you can donate online at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/eyegazerforgeorgia

From all at Hengrove Athletic, thank you.
