A hat trick from Stuart Windsor plus further goals from Jake Allen and Josh Hard saw the Wiltshire side overtake six teams on six points to lead the early league table. It was a third successive setback for the visitors who now prepare for another away trip on Saturday to Almondsbury.
Manager Jamie Hillman had to make two changes to his starting XI from Saturday's defeat against Radstock Town. Neither Kieron Ireland or Troy Walters were 100% fit so in came Lewis Bond-Kendall and Simon Knight, with the returning-from-suspension Jackson Brown on the bench.
Both sides had suffered 4-1 reverses at the weekend but Calne appeared to recover better from theirs and opened the scoring after a long goal kick from Sam Thomson wasn't dealt with, Josh Hard scoring at the second attempt. Before the break, Calne doubled their lead through the first of the evening for Stuart Windsor after good work on the flank by Jamie Norman.
After half time, it took until the 71st minute for the hosts to extend their lead when Windsor grabbed his second but only five minutes later, it was four when Jake Allen got his name on the teamsheet. In the final few minutes, Windsor scored his third and Calne's fifth to wrap up a successful evening for the home side.
