Credit must go to both sides and the three match officials for the way in which they approached this game and provided such an entertaining and interesting match.
Corsham went on the attack straight from kickoff and took the lead in the second minute when Ash Alchin netted with a follow-up shot after a good save from visiting keeper Carl Bush. Hengrove got back on level terms in the 14th minute when Jack Jones netted past home keeper Mark Billingsley. From then until half time, Corsham had the better chances but efforts from Josh Bright and Rhys Talmarsh went wide and Leigh Roges had a shot plamed away by Bush who also denied Bright with a good save.
After half time, and more water clearance in one of the corner areas, Billingsley made a fine save to clear a dipping effort and for the hosts, Bright & substitute Josh Hard shot wide and Luke Curtis fired inches over.
The all-important winner came in the 74th minute when a free kick taken by Lewis McCarron was touched on goalwards by Nick Chandler and touched in at the far post from inches out by James Gardner.
