After that run of poor form, manager Jamie Hillman made four changes to the side that had lost to Bishop Sutton on Good Friday. Out went Jude McCarthy, Ethan Hardy, Sam Jackson and Jackson Brown and they were replaced by Jojo Pickering, Luke Crewe, Harry Templeman and Regan Burton.
Hengrove took the lead on 35 minutes through top scorer Danny Dodimead who notched his 19th goal of the campaign and by half time, Grove had stretched their lead to 3-0 with further strikes from Mickey Parsons & Harry Lucas. Just before the hour mark, Longwell pulled a goal back but on eighty minutes, Hengrove restored their three goal cushion via Brandon Feehely. The visitors pulled another one back in the dying moments but it was to no avail and Grove could celebrate their first win in five games.
The victory means that Hengrove leapfrog over Longwell Green and up into 15th spot with the target of fifty points still within reach with two games remaining. Next up this weekend is Devizes Town away at Nursteed Road, kickoff at the usual time of 3.00pm.
